Checkpoint Gradings are an exciting step forward for every student. To keep the process fair, safe, and consistent for everyone, please take a moment to read the following terms and conditions. These apply specifically to Checkpoint Gradings and may differ from your regular membership terms.

Grading Fee & Registration

• Fees are charged on the Monday before your scheduled grading.

• Registration forms must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the grading date. Late registrations cannot be accepted.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

• 7+ days’ notice (before Monday): Full refund (no fees are charged before this point).

• 2–6 days’ notice (Monday–Thursday): $49 credit applied to your next grading. Remaining balance is forfeited.

• Less than 48 hours’ notice (Friday–Saturday): No refund or credit, unless in exceptional circumstances at Emplify’s discretion.

• Credits must be used at future gradings and are not refundable.

If you need to withdraw after registering, please notify us as soon as possible by emailing achieve@emplify.com.au.

Standards & Reattempts

If a student does not meet the required standards to pass, no refund will be provided. However, reattempts of the same level are offered at a reduced fee.

Behaviour & Respect

We ask all participants and spectators to uphold dojo etiquette and respect the training environment:

• Spectators must remain quiet and not disrupt ongoing sessions.

• No physical or verbal abuse will be tolerated. Memberships may be cancelled immediately in the case of misconduct.

• Students must wear full gi, remove jewellery and accessories, and address instructors by their proper title (e.g., Senpai, Sensei, Renshi).

• All students bow when entering and leaving the training area.

Media Consent

Photos and videos may be taken during gradings. By attending, you consent to Emplify’s use of these images for marketing purposes.

Karate Oath

I promise to uphold the true spirit of karate-do and never use my skills against any person, save for the defence of myself, family, or friends, in the instance of extreme danger of unprovoked attack, or in support of law and order.
